Supporting Lynx Gymnastics Club: Our Longest-Standing Local Client
On the morning of 7th May 2026, a serious fire tore through the Lynx Gymnastics Centre on Rabans Close in Aylesbury. Nine fire engines attended the scene. The first floor of the building was destroyed, with black smoke visible for miles across the town. Thankfully, no one was injured and no visitors were present when the blaze started.
The timing made it all the more painful. Just weeks earlier, in March, Lynx had celebrated its 40th anniversary.
A Relationship That Goes Back Many Years
Long before MW Fire grew into the team and capability it has today, Lynx was already part of our journey. For many years we have provided routine fire alarm servicing, fire extinguisher maintenance, and remedial works as required. It is a relationship built on consistency, trust, and the shared goal of keeping a much-loved community space protected.
What Lynx Means to Aylesbury
For more than 40 years, Lynx Gymnastics Club has been far more than a training facility. Every week, more than a thousand children and families walk through their doors. The club supports grassroots gymnastics, SEND families, recreational and competitive athletes, children's parties and community events, and elite pathways including Team GB gymnasts.
Generations of local families have grown up with Lynx as a constant presence. The fire has been a huge blow not only to the club, but to the wider community that relies on it.
The Investigation
Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the incident and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. No findings have been released at this stage, and we fully respect the formal investigation process. Our thoughts are with the staff, volunteers, gymnasts, and families affected.
Our Support for the Rebuild
MW Fire has made a donation to the Lynx fundraising campaign to help them recover and rebuild. This club has been part of our story for a very long time, and supporting them now feels both natural and important.
If you would like to help, Lynx are currently raising funds to secure temporary training facilities, support displaced athletes, cover immediate recovery costs, and begin planning for the long-term rebuild. You can support their efforts at their official GoFundMe page.
Looking Ahead
As a local business, we value the long-term relationships we have built with organisations like Lynx. We look forward to the day their doors are open again and the gym is once more full of energy, movement, and the sound of young athletes pushing themselves to new heights.
Until then, we stand with them, as a supplier, as a neighbour, and as part of the same community.
